Silkie

Silkie

The Silkie is a breed of ancient lineage, generally thought to come from Asia, most often China. It is named for its fluffy plumage, which looks more like fine hair than ordinary feathers. Silkies have dark, almost black skin, a crest, feathered legs, turquoise-blue or mulberry earlobes, and five toes on each foot instead of the usual four. They are a small breed, classed as a soft-feather light breed.
