Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

Happy Pigs Valley is a small family farm in Raglan, Victoria, run by Don and Cookie. This policy explains what personal information we collect through happypigsvalley.com and when you contact us, what we do with it, and how to reach us about it. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you contact us. The website has no contact form. If you phone, text, email or message us on Facebook, we receive the details you choose to give us, such as your name, phone number, email address and what you’re asking about (for example, the birds you’re interested in or a time to visit the farm).

When you visit the website. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. Hostinger keeps these records under its own policies to deliver the site and keep it running and secure. They aren’t stored in our hosting account, and we don’t use them to identify visitors.

Email sign-up. We don’t currently run a mailing list.

Analytics and advertising. We don’t use Google Analytics, Facebook/Meta Pixel, or any other analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website.

We don’t sell for payment online, so we don’t collect payment card details through the website.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Our website doesn’t set any cookies when you simply browse it.

  • Login cookies: these are only for people who log in to manage the site (us). Ordinary visitors don’t log in.
  • Caching: the site uses LiteSpeed Cache to load pages faster. It doesn’t set cookies for ordinary visitors.
  • Facebook: our Contact page shows our Facebook Page feed (see below). Facebook may set its own cookies when that page loads.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.

Content from other websites

  • Facebook: our Contact page embeds our Facebook Page timeline. When that page loads, your browser connects to Facebook (Meta). Facebook may collect information about your visit and set cookies, especially if you’re logged in to Facebook. Messages you send us on Facebook are also handled under Facebook’s terms. See Meta’s privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/.
  • Links to other websites (such as our Facebook Page) are covered by those sites’ own privacy policies.

How we use your information

We use it to:

  • answer your questions and arrange sales, collections and farm visits (farm visits are by appointment only)
  • let you know about birds or produce you’ve asked us about
  • keep the website running and secure.

We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information. We won’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be added.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with services that help us run the farm and website, and only as far as needed:

We’ll also disclose information if the law requires it. Some of these providers store data outside Australia. Our website is hosted at Hostinger’s data centre in Boston, United States, and Meta and Google also store data in the United States and other countries.

How long we keep it and how we protect it

We keep messages and contact details for as long as we need them to deal with you and to keep reasonable business records, up to 2 years after we last deal with you, then delete them.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, such as keeping website and email accounts password-protected and software up to date.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also deal with us without giving your name (for example, by asking a general question), although we’ll need some contact details to arrange a sale or visit.

Questions or complaints

If you have a question or a concern about how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first:
